Lol so this is the episode where everyone thinks house is on her01ne but he's actually on methadone. As someone on m3thad0ne for pain after struggling with similar pain to house actually, just in my jaw, m3thad0ne is a GODSEND. I can finally live again, and I feel so much better not being able to think due to pain. The fact that he concludes "I'm only brilliant with my pain" is utterly ridiculous and I'm so tired of this trope. I'm finally living again, writing, drawing, being productive and creative etc. The idea you need pain to be brilliant is stupid, and I'm glad we left this trope in the 2000's where it belonged. (also methadone doesn't make you slow, nor will it kill you on a proper treatment plan. Cuddy is being stupid. Also also it's not an injection, it's a liquid).

People like him dare others to kill them to be able to see it as a sign that they are doing the right things none else dares to do. They know it's wrong on some level, but justify themselves as giving the sacrifice none else is willing to do.

Hugh Lorie was so fabulous in this series. It's still hard to believe that he's British with a normal recognizable heavy accent. Yet as Dr. House absolutely perfect (as an American, lol) voice. Plus his limping was so great that it was hard to believe he's a fantastic stage dancer.

If he shows a great deal of improvement in behavioural therapy, maybe he could train to be a doctor/surgeon. I’m not as knowledgeable at this sort of thing, but from my understanding Sociopaths and Psychopaths are not inherently bad people and they can actually be incredibly beneficial in many regards. Doctors and nurses get worn out in a number of different ways, including the emotional strain in such a chaotic environment with a lot of suffering going on. But a Sociopath/Psychopath won’t have anywhere near the same levels of emotional distress due to their lack of empathy. (However, I have no idea if this career path may not just feed into any dark desires they may harbour.)
